Writing Instructions

1) Listen to the class discussion about the different types of writing. Take notes on how they are different:

• Writing an email to a friend

• Academic paper

• Online discussion

• Text messaging

• Newspaper article

2) You will be writing a blog post similar to the examples you read today. Read the instructions for the assignment and write an outline. 

• Topic sentence

• Supporting ideas

3) When you finish your outline, write your blog post in the blog you are assigned to. Review the instructions for using the blog.
